A Chronicle of the Entire Tilt Poker Remissions Approach: Focus All FTP Affiliates

Editors Note: PAS intern, Johnny G, is a former Full Tilt Poker player and victim who has had his mid five figure bankroll tied up since the events of April 15th, 2011. He will be writing for PAS about his experiences retrieving his balance through the Full Tilt Poker remission process.

Last Friday, the Full Tilt Poker (FTP) Claims Administrator, Garden City Group (GCG), announced that FTP affiliates “will be able to submit Petitions for Remission to recover the portion of their account balances that does not relate to their Affiliate status.”

There is a lot of misleading information about that update out in the blogosphere, who have misread it as Full Tilt paying all affiliates. For many, this will not be what several sources are painting as a great “U-turn.”

The Hard Facts

Here’s what we know in regards to this affiliate update:

  • GCG is reviewing updated data from FTP regarding affiliates’ accounts. Once that process is completed, they will email instructions to all affiliates on record and include login credentials for filling.
  • Affiliates do not fall under the November 16th, 2013 deadline. Instead, once they receive the email described above, they will then have 30 days to submit their petition.
  • The formula to calculate the “poker transaction” portion of affiliate accounts has not been communicated by GCG.

Some Speculation

This update should calm the minds of all the players whose accounts were “misidentified” as affiliate accounts since all transactions should be categorized as non-affiliate related.

However, pure affiliates can expect to get nothing. If we look back to the Rest of World PokerStars repayment, that formula looked like this:

Black Friday Account Balance – Total Lifetime Affiliate Earnings = Amount to be Repaid

The Sad Truth

Yes. Initially, all affiliates were excluded from the remission process and now that has changed. But it may all come down to how much of an affiliate’s balance is proven to be related to poker transactions.
