Preet Bharara is like the villain out of a 1980′s slasher film and the igaming industry is like a bunch of hapless teenagers enjoying a weekend at the lake. He won’t won’t stop coming after the US-facing industry and, like Jason or Freddy Krueger, he doesn’t seem to sleep.
Unlike those movie villains, Bharara and his posse at the US Department of Justice have an impressive array of legal tools to back up their vendettas and cause real pain in the igaming industry.
You might think that the onset of regulated online gambling in the US would slow Bharara and company down, but it hasn’t. He’s still stalking the web with an eye for illegal sports betting operations, unlicensed NFL merchandise and, of course, Calvin Ayre.
If you’re in the igaming business, watch your back, because you never know when Bharara and company will strike.
