iPoker Network Splits Into Two

As expected, the iPoker Network split into two player pools today, adding clarification to what many speculated about over the last two months. While there appears to be some confusion regarding comprehensive details, notably the size of each player pool, many iPoker Network poker rooms confirmed the news today.

Affected Rooms

Because affected games are completely separated, all poker rooms are impacted by this change in some way. Based on our best information at the time, PAS partner rooms are split into the following groups:

Tier 2 (or iPoker2):

The following are iPoker rooms that were determined to meet the poker ecology requirements set by iPoker. Contrary to previous reports, at this time these rooms do not have access to the FULL player pool but merely a BETTER, more player friendly player pool.

Titan Poker
William Hill

Tier 1 (iPoker):

Rooms in Tier 1, many of them smaller skins, were determined by iPoker not to meet the poker ecology requirements necessary to reach the Tier 2 requirements. Based on our observation, the player counts on these tables are currently comparable to Tier2; however, the quality of these tables are likely to eventually be inferior.

Sun Poker

It comes as no surprise that most of the largest iPoker rooms such as Titan Poker and William Hill have made the list. Meanwhile, large established brands such as Betfred and Genting did not make the cut, suggesting their online presence is not nearly as large as their brick and mortar footing.

Affected Games

The following games are affected by today’s changes:

  • No Limit Hold’em full ring tables of 0.01/0.02 to 1/2 ($ , E and L
  • No Limit Hold’em shorthanded tables of 0.01/0.02 to 2/4
  • No Limit Hold’em heads-up tables of 0.02/0.04 and above
  • Heads-up Sit N Gos with buy-ins up to 30
  • Shorthanded Sit N Gos with buy-ins up to 10

The games and tournaments not mentioned above are excluded from today’s changes. Notably:

  • Mid to high stakes No Limit Hold’em games and Sit N gos
  • Non-No Limit Hold’em games (Fixed Limit Hold’em, Stud, Omaha)
  • All multi-table tournaments

Be sure to stay tuned to PAS for the latest information surround the split of the iPoker Network.
